Gonna watch more of the old monster movies this October. this was hilarious.

the creature is so very cute and silly :) i giggled so much at him but his design is actually really cool i liked it a lot, i love kay and i have a burning irrational hatred for david, i think the creature would treat her better but that’s just me, fun movie though

Saw it in 3D!

Entertaining and fast paced

The creature out here is oozing coolness, and Julie Adams is oozing hotness! I love the dramatic music whenever the creature pops up, and underwater scenes in 3D were pretty cool too. I've got the figure for the figure, and it's always been one of my favorites to own.

Really wanted to like this more. Some cute moments him reaching for her ankle, swimming beside her. Hated all the humans; they invaded his home and attacked him. Suit was ahead of its time. Also, she’s littering and she’s a scientist? He was a lil goofy and cute 6/10 for its time

all these men in their slutty little swim shorts and no shirt,, why yes. also guillermo del toro is correct that this should be a love story instead of a horror movie because that scene of the creature following kay under water wanting to reach out by being afraid,, kinda romantic ngl. they shouldn’t have killed him :/ kinda an L for them

High tension and great suspense. It’s surprising that this is such a late entry in the Universal Monster universe yet is so iconic amongst legends. There’s some good character/story work with the two lead scientists, adding a nice protagonist vs antagonist vs antagonist plot.

7/10 ahead of its time the camera work is fantastic especially seeing the creature swim and the fight scenes underwater was really all well done

Problematic AF but ya know... swamp monster so :)

One of the classic golden age horror movies that holds up a bit better than some others. The costume design and characters are all great, and the plot leaves a little bit of room for discussion about the nature of the creature.

Okay loved the movie but. That was a tragic romance not a horror movie. The scene of him swimming with her? It was a meet cute I’m sorry

I can see how it was scary at the time cause like they didn’t know shit they didn’t like literally read in books, but like cmon

Also shoot it with your guns WAY earlier cut it out with that speargun shit
