Umm so this was actually kinda good for the “reputation” Tubi movies have, cause I actually got invested the entire time lol…I also may have started watching it for the male lead🫣

6/10….Good for a Tubi movie but I could still tell it was a Tubi movie

Okay so I'm kinda writing while I'm watching it. I am in love. Like it's cringey but the chemistry between the characters is so cute they're so romantic. Eddie's jump to action to get Jodie to perform is really sweet, I just wish that Jodie's dream could come true even if she was independent of him, emphasising an idea of needing a man to get up the career ladder, in a different light he is a force helping to push her up, as she said in her song. Like he really saw her and I can see that in the character especially when he sees her sing it's beautiful. And I'm loving the bad boy energy from David lacono 🤭🤭 my man knows what he's doing. In all seriousness Eddie's character is like a misunderstood lover boy if I'm honest, he calls himself a crook and then tries really hard to help her get started, I'm honestly cheesing at this movie. NLT TO MENTION I WAS SO SHOCKED. LIKE I SAW HIM ROVBING HER AND I SAID GIRL WHYD YOU PICK THAT then I saw the next scene of them being all teamed up and it just kinda sets the tone of their relationship like you see them bouncing off each other and just having fun. Even thought they're having fun it's like they're playing with fire cos they're dealing with very real and dangerous things. And that danger element beings risk into the relationship especially for Jodi cos she gets involved in these things because of him and for him cos she doesn't want him to do it alone, additionally I feel like Eddie feels worth something because of Jodie, not just because of what he can do for her, but because he believes her when she says that he's special. Idk I feel like I'm watching the characters rub off on eachother in a way that they're trying to build something together. Eddie sees the potential in Jodi and Jodi can see what Eddie can do for her is willing to do for her to make it happen. It's like a dark romance but the actual meaning of dark romance not like weird kinky shi. But like two people who love each other through incredibly awful circumstances and still chose each other. I think it's a highlight of the fact that falling in love is easy but to be in love takes work. Hard work, for some more difficult than others. A lot of movies involving romance are into this fact but I think the reason it's hitting for me here is because of the levels of trust that is between the two characters. She could've thrown him under the bus for everything and the same is with him but they trusted in each other enough to stand by one another even if they had no knowledge that the other was going the same and for me that shows the characters not only trust each other but are willing to go through hell for one another in the hope that they can save one another. And that's beautiful I think. That level of trust is highlighted by just how deceitful other characters are in this movie. Jodie lying to wally, wally lying to the little cowboy and Ernest lying to mama. But even when surrounded by such cruelty their bond isn't broken and that trust only grows. Ignoring the circumstances, whatever is happening, and trusting that they have eachother. I've finally found my fav romcom. Idec what yall think ngl I loved this movie imo✨

The first 30 minutes was interesting and going somewhere
Then we we resumed the movie it was completely different and just off the rails w side plots
Wild ride, a Tubi original for sure❗️
