This really could’ve been so much better. I think it’s one of Lawrence’s weakest performances, I get wanting her character to be flat but in the end it just came off as completely blah, which was disappointing but Henry steals every scene, the only good thing in a mediocre movie

Their friendship, the simplicity, the shared painful past, the beauty of NOLA is what made this movie special. The silent, slower movements allowed the viewer (if you let yourself) feel the feelings. It was beautiful & Brian Tyree Henry’s Oscar nomination was well deserved. In response to some of the negative comments, movies/stories don’t always have to have a huge ending, they can land softly & impactfully like this one! 🌟🎥
