I truly think this film is wildly good. Chris Evans and the rest of the cast have this incredible ability to make you forget it’s a movie and not real life.

A red, white and blue superhero journey wrapped up in the nostalgia of the World War II era, where America pluck and moral certainty made the battle. Captain America the first avenger is a truly humble story that fortifies the character both physically and morally. It’s well done

Definitely not the worst marvel movie but its up there. Although, it's got some of the most iconic clips, especially the running scenes.

Hot take, it was just okay. The ending parts are the coolest and the rest is just fine. Good comedy and great villain, but at some points it feels almost too cliche? Still a classic for the MCU but just okay in general.

Captain America: The First Avenger is aggressively earnest in a way that feels almost suspicious now, like the movie genuinely believes being sincere, brave, and a little corny might actually be enough and annoyingly, it kind of is. Steve Rogers starts out as a five foot nothing asthma warning in suspenders with the stubbornness of a man who’d absolutely get beat up behind a diner and still call it a moral victory. Naturally, this makes him the perfect candidate to become a scientifically engineered propaganda Ken doll with abs forged by wartime destiny.

And somehow it’s sweet. Under all the star-spangled heroics, HYDRA nonsense, and Hugo Weaving acting like he personally invented sinister cheekbones, the movie is mostly about a guy who was good before he got hot, which is frankly rude to the rest of us. Chris Evans plays Steve with such wholehearted sincerity that the film gets away with things that should absolutely make you roll your eyes, including a romance built on meaningful glances, wartime longing, and the kind of emotional restraint that would kill a modern blockbuster on contact.

It’s pulpy, old-fashioned, and just snarky enough around the edges to keep from collapsing under the weight of its own patriotism. The montage section is basically “what if war bonds had a jawline,” and yet the movie still lands its emotional beats with alarming effectiveness. A charming, square-jawed little origin story about courage, decency, and looking devastatingly noble while dramatically losing the love of your life to the cruel passage of time.

when he gets the shield it’s good from there. before then it really bores me. it’s not bad but rewatching has always been painful

I prefer my propaganda a bit less shoved down my throat via the worst looking cgi’d disembodied fake skinny person with Evans head and gag worthy fake accents I’ve ever seen and heard

Pretty wild storyline. I really wonder how they come up with this stuff. Loved Chris Evans’s and also all the action scenes
