Candyman Reviews

imagine trying to make a horror icon but he’s fine so no one’s scared of him

good story line

I like it

Amazing, the story was so original yet not because we all have played those horror mirror games before. I think that’s what made it so scary. It’s something we as kids all thought could actually happen. The visuals are great even 20 years later.

I have to watch the rest of these. Candyman is too cool…I’m like compelled. The man is genuinely only in like 40% of the film but DAMN, he leaves an impression. And the moments where he would speak about himself? Aura. Genuinely. Also, tell me why I’m a whole 18-year-old and I KNOW this isn’t based on a true story, but I’m lowkey afraid to say his name in the mirror…

White people always messing things up

This film could work in so many ways and has so many things to say about urban legends and passing down societal-scare stories. Virginia Madsen deserved the career that Scarlett Johansson had. Clive Barker is so brilliant :) <3

Another “classic” horror movie flop. Just gross and didn’t make much sense. I also felt so bad for the main character

Ahhh

What a bad bad man

This is in the top 3 of movies I have watched — absolutely loved it

clive barker is my tim burton and by that i mean i always forget he's not currently dead

This was an odd watch. The lore is super strange and hard to follow, definitely more metaphorical than anything else. It’s just a normal black guy with a hook for a hand. Not scary. Crazy plot tho and ending, just weird af.

Helen is so season 1 Scully

I shook Tony Todd's hand years ago. Just so I could say shook the Candyman's hand. 😊

nice to see a well acted, sympathetic villain but that is where my interest ended.
