imagine trying to make a horror icon but he’s fine so no one’s scared of him

I like it

Amazing, the story was so original yet not because we all have played those horror mirror games before. I think that’s what made it so scary. It’s something we as kids all thought could actually happen. The visuals are great even 20 years later.

This is in the top 3 of movies I have watched — absolutely loved it

This was an odd watch. The lore is super strange and hard to follow, definitely more metaphorical than anything else. It’s just a normal black guy with a hook for a hand. Not scary. Crazy plot tho and ending, just weird af.

I shook Tony Todd's hand years ago. Just so I could say shook the Candyman's hand. 😊

nice to see a well acted, sympathetic villain but that is where my interest ended.

To be completely honest, I was expecting a bit more, it wasn’t at all scary or even bloody. In fact this story was more about Helen than it was about Candyman. At least now I can say I’ve seen it, but I probably won’t watch it ever again.

This film could work in so many ways and has so many things to say about urban legends and passing down societal-scare stories. Virginia Madsen deserved the career that Scarlett Johansson had. Clive Barker is so brilliant :) <3
