There’s just a CRAZY amount of infidelity in Allen’s movies, his leads always the same stereotype of a guy… by my god are they annoyingly watchable.

Dialogue is wanky, like the rest. Funny, like the rest. It’s just very consistent, his movies are like a genre of their own, it’s really strange. There’s some lulls in this one however, so despite a good story, there’s a lot of lingering and rehashing that holds it back from being in the heights of Annie Hall or Manhattan - although far better than the lows of A Rainy Day in New York.

Jesse Eisenberg fully understands the assignment, and fully cosplays as a younger Woody Allen, although unlike Allen, I fully believe Eisenberg is in on the joke. Steve Carell is hilarious here, where he often is to be fair, but he plays the archetype of studio head well. Blake Lively rocking up in the 3rd act was a jump scare!

A middling entry in Allen’s filmography, it lacks the impact and true humour of other pictures, but it’s still a good watch nonetheless. Although I wouldn’t recommend this one as an entry point into his films if you were ever considering it.

just okay. a like for the visuals, jesse eisenberg and kristen stewart but everything else is quite weak. we all know woody allen lost it a long time ago, but this narrative goes nowhere and the script does nothing. easily skippable unless you like blake lively; i don’t

Artistically beautiful with visually pleasing film coloring, camera movement, clothing and set designs. I loved the sequence of the takes and the narrative throughout each event. (6-24-25)

The pictures are great, the quality of the dialogues, the narrator in the back. I can’t stop but think that it’s somehow inspired by an American in Paris especially at the end with the NYE party but also the love stories

Great film with beautiful visuals. One of Woody Allen’s better films in the past few years.

I love how the camera chases the characters and how the family’s life is incorporated in the main plot. Athough the lovestory is unique because it lies inbetween responsability and one’s true will, I honestly don’t like it. The cafe and the general aesthetic are lovely.

Such a beautiful film.. says a lot about modern day reality
