Alltime comfort movie probably watched 20 times…Guilty pleasure since the movie in itself is a cheesy cliche. Casting is amazing I love Kristen Bell and Cher and holy- Christina Aguilera is crazy hot in this and has a voice blessed by angles which makes me question my sexuality

Such a fun movie. Sounds track is enticing and makes you want to sing and dance ! Love Cher and Christina in this movie. The storyline is a little cheesy and exaggerated at times but overall a great movie

Always a 10, always a rewatch.
When someone asks me what my gay awakening is and I can’t say Cher and Christina at the bar when she pushes up her bra, so I say Hayley Kiyoko instead.

is it a particularly amazing, 10/10 film? not quite. do i absolutely love it regardless? yes i do. the scenes of the actual burlesque acts are mesmerizing. cher and christina aguilera are both very strong singers, loved to hear both of their musical talents in this. very fun!

Sometimes it’s camp and sometimes it’s just bad. I hated Ali so bad, what an insufferably written character.

Burlesque is the kind of movie that kicks open the door in six-inch Louboutins, throws glitter in your face, and demands a standing ovation. It is ridiculous, glamorous, wildly of its era, and honestly much more fun than I remembered.
Christina Aguilera really wasn’t as bad as I thought. To be fair, this role does not require devastating dramatic range, it mostly asks her to look stunning, sing like her life depends on it, and stare earnestly at the chaos. She does all of that perfectly well.
The real joy, though, is the cast. Alan Cumming is, as always, iconic. Stanley Tucci is also an icon, gliding through the film like he knows he’s above it and yet somehow making it better. Cher is not just good, she is everything, descending on every scene like the jeweled patron saint of sequins and suffering.
Peter Gallagher remains one of my favorites no matter what, Kristen Bell is the perfect pill and Eric Dane showing up felt like a gift from a very specific 2010 time capsule. Cam Gigandet continues to be one of my favorites too, and truly feels like the absolute epitome of that era.
Also: special recognition for the Louboutins, which deserve their own credit line. Those shoes were working.
Julianne Hough was a genuine surprise, Dianna Agron was perfect as Natalie, and James Brolin’s presence somehow makes this already surreal movie feel even more glamorous and strange.
Burlesque fully commits to being campy, melodramatic, and covered in rhinestones, and that is exactly why it works. Is it a masterpiece? No. Is it an absurd, fabulous glitter bomb of a movie stacked with icons and nonsense? Absolutely.
