I can describe how I felt about this movie in one phrase: Second-hand embarrassment. I was cringing so hard throughout it. The whole thing just felt wooden, like it had no real substance. I have seen some great LGBTQ+ films, and this is not one of them.

So um. I was kinda done when I saw foot licking/biting?… foot fetishes are weird, sorry. Also like, whoever told the main guy that he shouldn’t do musical theater was right, his voice kinda sucks and he sang a long song right at the end with a bizarre country accent.

Satire on top of satire. So much so it just became what it was making fun of. If you want a gay romcom, it gets the job done but I’m there’s better options then this. The social commentary it tries to make falls a little flat. Not the height of representation it tries to be.

All the lines are delivered via shouting, but if you can get past Billy Eichner’s loudness, the movie is sweet and endearing.

Too much Billy Eichner! It seemed the throughline meandered and didn’t know where it was going. The dialogue was too didactic and it seemed obvious that Eichner just wrote this movie so he could get sexy with Luke McFarlane. 🙄

I like Billy Eichner. I wanted to like this. I didn’t really. There were like 1 or 2 moments that made me laugh. No real memorable characters outside of Billy. Everyone else was kinda bland so if you didn’t like him it doesnt work and I didn’t really like his character.
