Brian and Charles is often heartwarming, and the documentary style aids the simple humor the film presents throughout. The third act is filled with a tension that questions the goodness of small-town humanity but is out of place in an otherwise comforting and low-stakes film.

A heartwarming story, but I didn’t really like the conflict in the third act. It felt shoehorned in and the “antagonist” had no real motive he was just mean for no reason. David Earl was great as Brian and I loved Louise Brealey as Hazel
