I know Nosferatu (2024) wouldn't be as it is without various other preceding films, but I have to say watching them all just makes me love Robert Eggers' vision/version that much more. The direction is great, although very tricky to follow. The casting is... I mean, apart from Gary Oldman, who always gives a spotlight-worthy performance, I couldn't see other characters past their actors. The production, design, makeup and cinematography were all beautifully dreamlike, bordering on nightmare, as were the sound design and score. All in all, I wouldn't say it's the best reinterpretation, but it makes sense as to why it's hailed as one.

Not scary, at all. Production, makeup, costumes & sets are amazing & immersive. Gary Oldman is fantastic. Stylised & cerebral in its imagery. Bright colours & exaggerated style throughout. Some visceral imagery too which was great. Takes itself a bit too seriously as well ⬇️

it isn't my favorite dracula, but the costumes and acting were greater than most old movies.

This is just insanity, every single frame is a piece of art.
But seriously, the visuals are just genuinely so arresting, I couldn’t believe how good every inch of it looked. It’s pretty cool to see the difference in adaptation from this and Eggers’s Nosferatu. They each take wildly different approaches to the material, and frankly, I love them both. Although I have to say, I prefer Coppola’s insane, horny, blood soaked vision just that bit more.
Gary Oldman is simply terrific. There’s a lot of prosthetic works throughout, but his performance shines through the thickest of it. Big fan of Winona, hoping she can return to making quality cinema now Stranger Things is done and dusted. Hopkins was fantastic as usual too, even Keanu Reeves grew on me, where at the beginning his accent was jarring.
Certainly one of my favourites of Francis Ford Coppola’s - although I’m due a rewatch of the Godfather trilogy and Apocalypse Now. Can now say I’m looking forward to revisiting this one in good time too!
