sometimes i fear for comedy taking away from drama and serious storytelling. but i am reminded by movies like this one and many others, that you can be lulled into the false sense of security of humor only to be sucker-punched by true tragedy.

very sweet film but I am not really impressed of the father figure

so sad but so funny idk how they perfectly blended them together

I didn't really think it was that interesting. The cinematography was great, but some of the acting was iffy.

wow😭😭😭😭😭 i cried so bad!!! such an amazing coming of age film. i didn’t think it would hit so hard, thought it would be nice and funny. it was that too but it was also heart wrenching 💔

as a fan of coming-of-age and taika waititi’s work, i definitely should have watched this one sooner. an excellent film that incorporates so many smart and funny narrative elements with amazing characters and humor. an early work of mastery

this movie is so good, it’s a really good mix of comedy and sadness. the characters are so well thought out and the plot is so simple but so great. i highly recommend this film it’s one of the best

A fun father son film with great New Zealand accents. Relatable coming of age.
