Blue Film Reviews

Unsettling, cerebral, quiet, uncomfortable, challenging, unexpected, singular. Quite unlike anything else I’ve seen depicted in film. Artful overall, a thoughtful, nuanced exploration of the most disturbing subject matter you can imagine.

haunting

5.5/10 - Really uncomfortable story and themes. Engaging acting and stylization choices.

Will definitely give a rewatch, but I don’t know when.

This was such an interesting movie for me because it honestly made me sick to my stomach but I also related to the queer aspect of it. 8/10 wouldn’t watch again tho for my own mental health👍

Porra o filme é bom mas só por Deus com esses temas veir, acho q deve ter alguma roleta pra qual tema bizarro abordaremos no mundo gay

Art. Despite its discomfort, this film reveals the disturbing aspects of human nature without judgement. The acting was impeccable, helping you understand the complexity of the human psyche even when there’s no excuse for their actions.

This might be the most interesting movie I’ve ever seen. As well as the most uncomfortable. I don’t think I’ve ever seen honest nuanced conversation about the things they talk about in this movie, not just depicted in film, but like anywhere ever. This is the kind of movie that I can’t fully review right away. Definitely put a pit in my stomach in exactly the way I hoped it would though. I love to be made deeply uncomfortable by movies and I think everyone should!!!! You gotta sit with that.

raw, unfiltered, and vulnerable. there’s so much depth to this film it’s incredible.

Saw it in Mark duplass stories a few times finally watching it

This isn’t an enjoyable watch, but it’s a well-made one. The acting was excellent and the film forces difficult conversations without excusing the behavior. It’s disturbing from start to finish and leaves you with a lot to think about.

Highly uncomfortable themes executed well 3.9/5 ⭐️

Obviously dealing with heavy topics (homosexuality, pedophilia, perversion), both actors are so good here and although this is very fucking uncomfortable to watch and has extremely vulgar sex scenes, I'm drawn to the confrontation it shows and shock value.
