BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky
I think watching K-pop Demon Hunters has awakened a side of myself that I never thought possible… a K-pop fan 😨 sometimes I like to use the Spotify DJ feature, and after obsessively listening to the Demon Hunters soundtrack, he decided to put me on to BLACKPINK. Their unique style of music immediately clicked with me, and I’ve gotten super into it really quickly. So this was kind of the perfect documentary for me - someone who has gotten into a single K-pop group, but doesn’t know much about the whole industry. It gave a really interesting insight into the whole trainee process and everything that goes into starting a K-pop group, and I learned so much.
And all four of the girls are just awesome. I love how much each of their personalities were able to shine through in the interviews and the recorded conversations. I loved the conversations in particular because it’s so great just being able to see them spend time with each other when they’re NOT on-stage or on a late-night show. My favorites are Lisa and Rosé, but this really made me love them all!! “Not bad but not good” 😭
This was just the right documentary at the right time for me, and I really enjoyed it!
