8.7/10 after a week of it not being able to leave my mind im afraid Micheal Haneke has gave me with the bleak cinema virus. From now my queue may contain mass amounts of despair and disturbing human nature…sorry

Disturbing, one of those movies that you feel like you shouldn’t be watching but something made me love it

my introduction to haneke, a phenomenally offputting and successfully disturbing film that tackles mature and violent videography. fantastic lead with perfect performances, framing, and visuals; incredibly precise and true to its themes. not everyone will enjoy

I set my expectations for this too high. I get the theme of on-screen violence and desensitization, but the scenes seemingly meant to be uncomfortable and disturbing just bored me. I felt bad because this is usually something I’d enjoy, I’m not sure why this just didn’t hit.

Great movie with a great ending
