Remaking a classic is never really a good idea. That being said I thought this was “okay” Certain moments hit, others do not.

It’s like an hour and a half shorter than the original. And in my opinion, that’s enough to make it superior to its predecessor.

Can’t lie, I really loved this movie, but I couldn’t help but point out a major flaw, its pacing. It felt like they were rushing into scenes too fast to fit the runtime it had but that doesn’t stop it from being good. Its ability to send a strong positive message pays off. 9.6/10

Not nearly as good as the first one

Two brothers, a Roman and a Jew, have political differences and become enemies. Jew becomes enslaved for 5 years, comes back and beats his brother in a chariot race and then Jesus of Nazareth dies and the brothers become brothers again and start new lives outside of Jerusalem?

Not a bad new version

Possibly my favorite remake. Reimagines and improves but keeps what makes it work.

Never understood the hate for the movie, it may not be a masterpiece like Gladiator, Troy or 300, but for what it is it’s a decent watch, definitely a movie worth watching, I enjoyed it quite a lot.
