An amazing documentary as it blends how it’s done and why it’s done perfectly along with the pacing being near pitch perfect. It’s a must watch if you love stranger things along with if you want to get into theatre every aspect is explored into full detail this is for you. 8.7/10

A fun time. Loved seeing this show on broadway and this lended great insight into creating it. Wish this was made after season 5 though, so we could see more into the actual thought processes

I was expecting a fascinating look at how a massive IP makes the leap from screen to stage. What I got instead was a documentary that feels like a case study in chaos.

Is the planning and development of every major stage production like this? If so, what an absolute nightmare. And if not, then… my god, this seemed like a full-blown mess that maybe shouldn’t have ever gotten this far in the first place. The amount of scrambling, rewriting, and existential spiraling happening so late in the game was stressful to watch. Previews are supposed to be for fine-tuning, not for what appeared to be foundational restructuring.

The writing process, in particular, was uncomfortable. The writer comes across like someone who actively hates writing. There’s a difference between creative struggle and visible misery, and she leaned heavily toward the latter.

If you’re in the camp that believes this IP can do no wrong, you’ll probably love the circle jerk this becomes in the end.

“We can’t stop crying…we’re in love with Henry now” …OK weirdos.

As a documentary, it’s well executed, it just doesn’t add much value beyond reinforcing how much everyone involved believes in the project.

This stressed me out. I wanna watch the play now.

An interesting documentary on a play that I probably won’t get to see any time soon! It kinda sucks that most fans won’t get to see this standalone story, that’s loaded with some essential backstory, without shelling out some serious cash and watching it on broadway!

“everything is constantly changing” damn the way they’ve had to adapt so much is crazy. this was very insightful and interesting to watch
