This one just really didn’t sit right with me. I can see what some people might enjoy about it and I don’t think it’s awful or anything, but I just found the characters in it very unlikable and so it just didn’t work for me. Glad other people do though.

4.4 - This was my least favorite of the 2025 Oscar Animated Shorts.

It is very well crafted. The claymation style works, & there are enough other visual tricks to really amp up the production for a short. But I just didn’t like the story at all. It’s a study on three brothers & their various insecurities and their fragility, & I didn’t love how they handled any of their relationships. Maybe it’s cultural, but as someone with two brothers, it just felt unrealistic in a few too many ways.
