Why were old Disney movies so traumatizing

5.1 - I know this angers some Disney purists but I fall in the “this is boring” camp. The animation is gorgeous & detailed, & the score carries a ton of weight, but the first half of the story is just walking around a forest & the second is so ridiculously over the top horny for a kids’ movie that I was almost uncomfortable having my kiddos in the room during it. Overall, it’s fine & it’s incredibly important in the world of animation, but it’s just absolutely not for me anymore.

one of my mom’s favorite movies, a gorgeous short-and-sweet film that has aged well and showcases some of disney’s best animation out of the 40s. the narrative is powerful, the music is beautiful, just an all-around classic
