True crime, the way I like it. I watched this after seeing Cory Finley's other films, and all I'll say is I hope he continues telling true stories. The sleek retelling doesn't stray too far from the truth, and the smart dramatisation keeps you well invested. To top it all off, the casting is phenomenal, and the score/soundtrack works wonders. The pace moves quickly, and the writing tells you what you need to know from almost every point of view. There's fraud, and then there's fraud...

Hugh Jackman was so charismatic I almost forgot he was committing felonies.

Hugh Jackman was amazing in this role, deceptively kind and considerate all the while committing a seemingly perfect crime. The story was fascinating (based on real life) and the way the film chooses to unravel the narrative was sooo good.

Being from Long Island and not knowing about this story, being able to learn about it was very interesting. Pretty enjoyable cast overall but Hugh Jackman in particular did a spectacular job playing a type of character I’ve never seen him do before.

not bad, just not my kind of film. the acting was great, however the plot wasn’t very interesting.
some people might enjoy the stress that’s created by the whole situation, but in my case it just made me unnecessarily bored.
