At this point, I don’t think it’s possible for me to not love an Avatar film. They’re just spectacular to look at and this one specifically the sound design was on a whole other level 😮‍💨

Off my first viewing, it’s probably my least favorite out of the 3 but that’s barely saying anything at all cause I truly do love all 3 of them. This one had some great small comedic moments but also hit hard with my emotions on multiple different occasions.

My only nitpick is the way it “ends” but again, doesn’t take anything away from the film as a whole for me.

James Cameron, keep em coming. I’m excited to see what the plans are for 4 and 5, and look forward to continue seeing these wondrous pieces of art displayed on the big screen 🔥

I'm overstimulated to the point of nausea. Give me a second to catch my breath😭 so much was happening, anxiety on HIGH. Definitely liked this more than the second one but the first remains on top

It only took 16 years and finally we have a trilogy. Dare I say it’s almost the same plot 3 times in a row (can’t James come up with a new antagonist?). I will say the Ash were quite badass. Seemed like it could have been cut shorter by 30min but overall impressively epic 8/10

6.2 - I’ve always been lower on this franchise than everyone else, but it seems like I’m starting to be vindicated.

Once again this was eye-candy…mostly. I was not a fan of the occasional frame rate changes, either the slow downs & the speed ups. It felt a little too video game cutscene-y a few times.

But I had a lot of (the same) issues I’ve had with the others. The world expansion wasn’t as strong as the last. The main characters are still pretty bland if not downright unlikable - Jake is still a not great dad, & Neytiri is apparently also a not great mom. It still diverges into too many different stories. And worst of all, there’s not enough change to the story itself. I’ve seen the same structure, the same struggles of the Na’vi & their religion & world, the same divergence from the story to connect to the fauna, & the same battles between Na’vi & humans, etc., etc., etc., three times now.

Even the main draw (at least marketing wise) of the Mangkwan/Ash People, who look really cool and had an interesting hook of teaming up with the humans to use their tech, were a bit disappointing. They mostly felt under utilized, under developed, & nearly sidelined at the most climactic moments. Oona Chaplin is innocent though, she did all she could to own every second of screen time she had as Varang.

After now sitting through nearly 9 hours of Pandora & the Na’vi, there’s not much left to say of natives vs “sky people.” I’m going to need a hard pivot in four years or I’m probably going to be all the way out. I need character growth, a new conflict, & a much tighter focus.

And I’m not one bit confident I’ll get any of it.

Worst movie I’ve seen in a long time. Horrible dialogue cringed so bad I almost walked out. 48fps is just unbearable to watch. Same exact plot as the second one. ZERO progression to the story line. The army is still there they destroyed 1 ship and the general is STILL ALIVE. Don’t waste your time watching this. I genuinely can’t believe this was approved to be released.

honestly fuck imdb reviews.

a behemoth of a trilogy. watched it in IMAX 3D and holy it was a spectacle.

the biggest avatar compared to the last two. insane amount of action, brought back incredible characters / creatures.

the world building is absolutely fucking insane. it should honestly be studied. one of my favorite visually stunning sequels of all time.

vfx & sfx are the heart of this film. it always has been. god did mr cameron deliver. i even noticed the quality was so so damn fucking good.

immersion at its finest.

it just looks tooo damn real bro. wish i could teleport to pandora.

go watch it in IMAX 3D. it’s too damn good.

wish i brought shrooms.

This Threequel continues to be visually stunning, although we're not shown a new world of Pandora.
Varang as a villain is great, she has more character depth than others and unmatched aesthetics.
3h went by in a flash, I was hooked!

9/10 It’s amazing how quickly you immerse yourself in this world, it looks so real. The story continues, showing a growing family and there ongoing fight. Must be watched on the big screen to really appreciate the Special effect/visonals (IMAX 3D).

Un peu plus que meh.. très beau film mais l’histoire est longue et est une réflexion des films précédents. Même dans un film aussi long, on sent que certains passages sont coupés ou pressés

This is a worthy, rousing third serving of a groundbreaking franchise that may not equal its predecessors, but remains great pop art.

James Cameron needs to be charged with distribution and possession of drugs. He’s been doing this for years. Putting the strongest of crack in these movies. Cuz that was an absolute masterpiece it honestly does not get better than this. This is the truth; n the truth I shall say!
