Santosh Sivan’s cinematography is gorgeous—using natural light and landscapes to create a mythic feel. The lack of CGI gives battles a gritty, authentic texture. Shah Rukh Khan is chilling, transforming from charming prince to bloodthirsty tyrant. As a man of faith, the redemption arc resonated deeply; it powerfully illustrates that even a man responsible for immense suffering can find peace through repentance. Anu Malik’s soundtrack is hauntingly beautiful.

The Cuts:
The tonal shifts are jarring, swinging wildly from slapstick rom-com to brutal war tragedy. The comedy feels forced and dated, and the item number distracted from the narrative flow.
