A terrifying and infuriating film. But the most annoying thing is that fucking bastard,Josh. Every time he opened his mouth i just wanted to scream “OH MY GOD JOSH SHUT UP YOU TROPHY HUSBAND LOSER”.

Really good. The ending wasn't what I was expecting

was not expecting this to be political, purely watched because of the cast 😭 it was a bit slow and made me so mad when josh spoke - i’m sure there’s supposed to be so many metaphors and whatever but is this not literally america rn😟… wouldn’t rewatch x

Woah/10. Off the bat you know something is off and when it rains it starts to pour. Birdie and her virology background was a great metaphor for what unfolds in this movie. This is a more likely version of Handmaids Tale…

Possibly one of the most unexpectedly bleak films I've seen all year, and the lack of marketing genuinely upsets me. Densely dystopian scripts like these aren't easy to convey, so credit to Jan Komasa, especially for making it as relatable and original as can be. Each character is crafted with meticulous and metaphorical intent, and the casting is flawless. Lane, O'Brien, Chandler, Brewer, Deutch, Dynevor, McCormack... the performances hit hard. The stark but gradual internal and external shift into its total antithesis is so disconcertingly 'familiar'. The lack of labelling might seem labyrinthine at first, but by the end, the messages of totalitarianism, extremism, propaganda, censorship, and repression feel like a stab in the gut.
