The songs were really poorly done :( like the auto tuneeee. Esp with Cameron Diaz. And the acting was also bad for the most part. Overall it just felt so…. Sony lol. Annie ate with opportunity tho

It's so earnest in its approach, so sugary sweet and good hearted that my cynical self gave way to its endearing wholesomeness. And most importantly, I finally found out where a dozen TikTok audios come from!

As a fan (and actor) of multiple productions of annie the musical on a stage? this butchered it.

One of my childhood films, the songs, the actors and the characters, this film was truly amazing and I loved every minute!

This is better than the og Annie movie. The songs, plot, just everything was muah. I even went to watch a play of it it was just so good.

picture this: Annie’s a smart, sassy foster kid in NYC, stuck with boozy, bitter Miss Hannigan who treats her and the other girls like chores. They belt out “Hard Knock Life” in a gritty apartment—total energy burst with brooms and attitude. Annie sneaks out chasing her bio parents, dodges traffic like a boss.
Enter Will Stacks, billionaire phone mogul running for mayor. His team spots Annie saving a dog—viral gold! He “rescues” her for PR, moves her into his sleek penthouse. Cue culture clash: Annie’s street smarts vs. his awkward rich-guy vibe. They bond over helicopter rides, fancy parties, and her teaching him to loosen up.
Best bits? The upbeat songs! “Tomorrow” remixed with pop beats, Annie owning the streets. “Opportunity” where she shines at a gala—pure joy. Hannigan’s hilarious villain arc, scheming with Stacks’ rival Guy to fake-kidnap Annie for cash. Cameron Diaz camps it up, drunk-dancing to “Little Girls.”
Twists: Fake parents show, but Annie uncovers the scam. High-stakes chase through NYC—subways, bridges, adrenaline rush! Stacks realizes he loves her for real, quits the race to adopt her. Heart explodes when he sings “I Don’t Need Anything But You” duet-style.
Ends with a massive party, everyone dancing to “Together at Last.” Themes of family, hope, beating odds—feel-good vibes with modern twists like social media and diverse cast. Quvenzhané Wallis kills it as spunky Annie, Jamie Foxx adds charm. Quick, fun watch with laughs, tears, and bops that’ll stick in your head.

FIRST OFF don’t compare to the first one, they are too different they can’t be. Both are SO amazing. It’s like 1933 vs 2021 Invisible Man. The casting, especially Quavenzhane is just perfect! Song iterations are great. I just wish there were anachronisms to feel more timeless.
