hmmm mixed feelings (ATJ is the only reason i watched this)

So I have to start this off with saying that this movie was absolutely beautiful. The cinematography was outstanding and I love the way they filmed it on theater stages and in theaters themselves. The ending was bad until I understood it. Anyways ATJ IS FINE AS HELL OML. 7/10

9.5/10 I’m beginning to think I will simply fall in love with any movie Kierra Knightly is in, I love the way the movie is done as though it is a play and Aaron Taylor-Johnson is scrumptious with a mustache

visuals are stunning
but the way the story is told... feels quite poor

Honestly it didn’t quite do the book justice. The film tilts toward Anna, pushing Levin’s quieter moral weight into the background, understandable, since tragedy translates more easily to spectacle. Overall, loved the score by Marianelli and Wright perspective of the book.
