Anna and the Apocalypse Reviews

This movie is what happens when a family is fighting over what to watch and each member wants a drastically different genre. Comedy, horror, musical, drama. Cheezy but engrossing, it’s earned its place in the holiday horror catalogue.

cute concept, i enjoyed the cartoonish villain’s songs, he was the most entertaining part
it was pretty goofy and all over the place but fun enough to watch
pacing leaves some to be desired, i feel like stuff could’ve been explained more
the emotional moments didn’t feel earned

It was kinda boring

I’m in a glass case of emotion.
Going in blind I’m surprised to watch Shaun of the dead meets high school musical. And I gotta say I really liked that about it. Unexpected but it worked. It proceeded to take some very dark turns in the third act. The final reprise hurt a little

Giving up 43 minutes in. I can’t deal with the musical side of it. Other than that the concept was cool and there have been a few funny moments I could just do without the singing.

I get the appeal of this but it really didn’t do much for me. The songs were pretty catchy but it was just a bit too goofy for me (and I’m not against goofy). But I’ll give it a 👍🏻 because for what it was trying to be, it did a decent job. Just didn’t appeal to me.

I knew absolutely nothing about this film, so when the first song came on and everyone started singing I was literally asking “WTF is this?”! Ok, so maybe a couple of the songs were catchy. It might have a huge following that I’m unaware of, however, I didn’t really enjoy it.

Man I really wish this maintained the energy from the first half throughout the entire movie. Can’t say I didn’t tear up a little towards the end though and Ella Hunt was fantastic.

Shit was god awful and boring. It was cringey as hell too. Fire whoever made this and the people that are giving this good reviews have bad taste and are LIARS. I like whatever the opposite of this is

I don’t like musicals.. this is the best. Now it’s a Christmas classic for me.

Forgettable

Wasn’t expecting this to be a musical

this was good & unique! musical + horror aren't typically two genres you'd put together, but i think it works here with the overall comedic aspect. i was sort of surprised by how many main characters died, but wasn't against it. lots of laughs all throughout! very silly and fun.

I thought this was funny. I didn't expect it to be a musical since it was a horror movie. It's quite sad that Anna, Nick and Steph were the only ones alive tho.

A mesh of horror and musicals that totally works and is such a fun film. The acting and songs are great and the ending is fitting. A great movie to watch around the holidays.

this movie felt like a fever dream but i watched it over 3 years ago and still remember it clear as day so that must mean something 💀

This movie had surprisingly good song and dance numbers and enjoyable characters to boot. Definitely a film I could see myself turning on every once in a while
