Literally nothing happens the whole movie

Uhhhh so basically the whole movie is confusing, it has this otherworldly place but doesn’t elaborate on it, has only 2 characters and doesnt give them names, and has the main character wander round the world for 40 minutes of the 70 minute movie doing absolutely nothing.

I have like 3 pros but mainly, u do not need to watch this, despite the fact its 62 minutes long without credits, it does absolutely nothing the whole time, there’s shadow fish for some reason, and borderline no dialogue, there’s none until the halfway mark and even then it’s 6 conversations at most between the 2, during one random one the side guy starts spitting pure poetry levels of storytelling, but the story doesn’t make sense to the plot unless you research it, so to the casual viewer, you have absolutely what this mf motive is and or why.

And one final complaint before I give it some props, wtf was going on, it was something about an egg, then a bird, then Noah’s ark, then some stone Death Star, and then about the otherworldly island they were staying on, it just doesn’t start or go anywhere, yet the only reason it’s 4 stars are mainly because it’s got some great animation and music.

Plot ?/10 or 3/10 (no idea wtf was going on but maybe I'm just slow)

Soundtrack/Score 9/10 (can’t lie the vocals were heavenly)

Acting 7/10 (no dialogue for 90% of the movie and they don’t say much)

Cinematography 9/10 ( one of the only reasons it’s 4 stars tbh)

Pacing 8/10 (hard to have bad pacing when you have no idea what’s going on or where it’s going)

Character Development 2/10 (literally none whatsoever, only reason it’s a 2 is because I felt bad for the little girl, but then again ID FEEL BAD FOR ANY LITTLE GIRL)

Writing ?/10 (I’d like it if it made any kind of sense to the human brain)

Ending 5/10 (no emotional impact in the slightest WHEN I DON’T KNOW ANY OF THE CAST’S NAMES)

Direction 9/10 (great sense of direction, not a great sense of script)

Overall 8.5/10

Beautiful, melancholy and slow. This is more of an art experience than a true narrative. Still, there’s so much left to interpretation. If you enjoy symbolism, and beautiful animation, this is for you. Be warned: it’s slow.

i don’t know if i could tell you a thing that happened in this movie but i couldn’t look away from the dazzling animation and scoring - beautiful cinematography i just wish this movie had a little substance, at all

8/17/26: Loooonnnggggg slowwwwwwwwww ponnnnderous movie. I wish I liked it. I got so tired, and started daydreaming about other things. Not much really happened, and it looked cool, but I could look at a book if I wanted to see still images.

This is such a bizarre movie. I thinks it’s like a faith questioning twist on Noah’s Ark which was pretty interesting. There’s almost no dialog in this movie and a lot of it is left up to interpretation. I enjoyed the animation quite a bit and I like a weird movie here and there.

its a masterpiece to watch from the perspective of art and how all of it was drawn without use of computer graphic. however plot.. idk man there were too much of it to analyse

Really good avante garde film. In a lot of ways, this movie feels like if ‘FromSoft’ (dark souls) made films instead of games. There’s a lot of contextual world building, little to no dialogue, dark gothic structures, a dying world, and a lot of symbolism. I love it.

i liked this for the music and animation and (maybe? possible?) alluding to biblical references although i was confused for most of the movie

tough watch. it was absolutely gorgeous but i just don’t think it’s my kind of movie

I love this kind of films, i don’t want to say too much a out this film it’s just beautiful to me.☺️

What the actual fuck.

This is the most haunting and beautiful setting I’ve seen in an animated film ever. That score was so eerie, i loved it.

The characters designs were🤌

Although the film had little dialogue, i didn’t need any because i was so encapsulated by the beautiful animation. I love the long shots where they give you the opportunity to actually look at everything that’s going on.

This movie felt like being trapped in a spell.

This would honestly be a perfect watch around Halloween.

Was okay i enjoyed the art but it was a bit boring in my opinion

Watching the trailer was far more entertaining then the actual movie.

Not my vibe at all, too slow like wtf, I came for a story but it was more an experience np it was funny
