watch this with your dad and make him drink as much water beforehand so you can catch him crying in the shitter

you can really tell he is a painter!!! visually stunning stuff

Boring

One of the worst films of the year. Daniel Day Lewis was great but that was the only positive of the film

i didn’t really have sufficient background knowledge for this but it was very beautifully shot

The scene where it was fire reflecting in Daniel Day Lewis’s eye might be one of my favourite shot in any film

Some cool shots throughout, but it’s a slog.

Could have saved me an hour by cutting out all the still shots and unnecessary build ups

The lighting is ass for majority of the scenes, story overall is pretty boring

Would be way better as a short film 20 minutes. The story is captivating but gets interrupted as the director says “check out these awesome views and shots I can do with the camera.” is it stunning, yes, but also distracts from the story with a runtime that is 2.5 hours long.

It was ok. Very slow moving. I agree with other reviews. It was shot beautifully.

Visually stunning, but emotionally stunted. How can you be so dialogue heavy with nothing to show for it? What this film is best at is lingering, much past its welcome.

Ronan Day-Lewis took a swing for the damn fences with his directorial debut and I respect the fuck out of it. So many gorgeous shots throughout the entirety of this film. Some moments left me a little puzzled and I’m not sure if they really pulled off what they set out to achieve

i sat playing solitaire for the majority of it but could still tell you exactly what happened because that little went on. 2/10

Was slow and quiet but very powerful. Watching it in the theater kept me invested, I think.
