An Officer and a Gentleman is the best movie about love that I've seen in a long time. Maybe that's because it's not about "love" as a Hollywood concept, but about love as growth, as learning to accept other people for who and what they are.

Definitely a film with a distinct crowd and target audience, and I am not really it. The story is very surface-level for the most part. The two male leads feel developed but both female leads feel like they don’t get any substance until towards the end. Dark themes are good
