An American Werewolf in London Reviews

honestly fine shyt turning into a werewolf wouldn’t stop me either, shoutout to that nurse fr!

7/10

i put this movie off for such a long time because i’m not really into werewolves but now i regret it, it was really great
had such a charming sense of humor and really impressive practical effects
i’ve never seen a werewolf transformation as viscerally uncomfortable as this

One of the greatest horror movies in history. A timeless classic with pacing smoother than butter and VFX that anyone who doesn’t like should be beaten until senseless. Intriguing, engrossing, and wildly entertaining.

The best werewolf transformation in my opinion. Jump scares. A favorite!

Practical effects were smooth. 25% of the jokes were funny to me. I like the camera work. Plot could’ve been thicker but still decent for a werewolf movie. Really hot main character…those eyes man

Spoiler:
-I really like the additional rule where the victims haunt the Werewolf

Best werewolf movie to date

This movie has the energy of the Dungeon of Doom with Hulk Hogan yelling, "Ah! It's not hot!"

I am sick. This movie was so cute, funny, and somehow has the most dull and dreary ending of all time. I ADORE this movie as a mood piece, and I will be watching it again.

I can't believe I forgot how great this was. I think my last complaint was the comedy, but it's actually good. The nightmare sequences are pretty intense, and those jump scares were effective. The transformation has always been one of the best uses of practical effects all time

Of course this movie Was written by a teenager..
Unnecessary nudity of women❌

Honestly such a good time. This is one older horror movie I’ve put off watching for a long time and I’m glad I finally did. Loved the characters, the story was different and interesting, and I enjoyed watching!

7.1/10

Man and his buddy think that walking alone at night in a foreign country is a good idea. Spoiler: it’s not.

10/10 practical effects of the “change” is so solid even 40 years later.

I was terrified of this movie when I was younger. And the make up/special effects were great for the time. Now, it’s not really scary but still a movie worth watching, I think

interesting but not a stand out? 🤷‍♂️ the humor was enjoyable tho!

3.5/5 - i fear i too would not believe a strange american man if he claimed to be a werewolf

the practical effects were so cool, i just wish the film was altogether longer so it could’ve explored a few more aspects of the overall story

Narrative was a little bit over the place at first but the concept manages to keep you engaged specially by the mesmerizing showcase of practical effects that holds up perfectly to this day. It threw me off a bit how David initially barely reacted to his friend sudden passing.

9/28/26: Incredibly well done! Fantastic practical effects. Excellently written story. Hell of a lot of fun!!

feeling like that white person who doesn’t learn anything from horror movies cause my god does a stroll in the english countryside on a foggy evening sound good right about now

cult classic, one of the best werewolf transformation
