So frickin weird. Good acting and good dancing, but this movie was so random.

I can appreciate the talent and the creativity. There were a lot of really cool and impressive aspects but it was also slow, dated and at times a bit too extravagant for my taste.

My Rating: 7/10
Nominated for 8 Oscar’s and won 6. It also won the inaugural golden globe best pic. Can’t go wrong with Gene Kelly in a musical. But it’s not Singin in the Rain. Leslie Caron’s film debut and she is just absolutely gorgeous. Watching her dance makes the movie.

Gene Kelly is amazing and he dances his ass off, my compliments really, BUT the movie it’s so heavy with a premise so light.

was expecting a well rounded musical since this won best picture but the plot kind of got lost somewhere. Nevertheless it was incredibly enjoyable, beautiful sets and even lovelier costumes. Perfect dancing and singing.

Feels very modern for its time. I love the incorporation of dance and tap. Great camerawork

One of the all-time great musicals with dance numbers to make your heart sing. Absolutely classic and worthy of a top ten spot on any cinefile’s top ten classic musical list.

While it has some very funny bits and amazing singing and dancing, it also has some huge problems when it comes to its depiction of sexual harassment. Also, the seemed to replace the last 15 minutes of the movie with a dance number instead of plot and dialogue.
