The fact they let that bitch out of prison is infuriating. They should’ve did to her what she did to Sylvia.

It was hard to watch knowing it was based on true events and knowing the end before going into it. It did get a bit slow in the middle, but if you like these kinds of movies I think it’s worth a watch.

I can’t even imagine what Sylvia endured 😞😞😞😞😞 no one helped her, and no one spoke up. It’s just so heartbreaking. real cases like this happen so often 😔😔. I hope every individual involved in this never finds peace.

I would not watch this again, I actually had to take a second to figure out how I was going to rate this. This movie made me feel uneasy, and there were times I had to skip forward to see what was going to happen. This movie left me feeling empty and angry.

Depressing watch - makes you question humanity.

Did NOT appreciate the weird twist at the end. Seems insensitive to the real life victim.

This needs to come with trigger warnings - it’s incredibly violent and the fact that it is based on a real story makes it even more horrible.

Wasn't sure how to rate this. It's a horrible story and they really dumbed it down to the events that actually happened. I can't believe nobody said anything and I truly hope that everyone that took part and said nothing all rot.

the movie was a lot more tame than the actual story of Sylvia Likens, i guess to the audience’s benefit. still the most accurate cinematic telling of this tragedy to date 7/10

this is not an easy movie to stomach, between the stories and graphic content of what unfolded, i wouldn’t suggest if you’re easily squeamish, but Sylvia’s story deserves to be heard.

I think it’s sick that a grown woman, a mother at that, would put someone through so much. Physically, and mentally sick or not, what Gertrude put Sylvia through was disgusting. I don’t think her prison sentence was long enough. The fact that this is an actual case is disturbing.

This movie messed me up granted I shouldn’t have watched it as a child but its brilliantly haunting
