I love this movie, but the domestic abuse and animal cruelty makes it bittersweet. Almost cried from the dead dogs. But I think Alejandro González Iñárritu is a new favorite director of mine. Had to FaceTime my dog after this.

this is a type of movie that you wish you could see for the first time again. Following 3 lives
and how one event “connected” them to each other yet never once interacting face to face. They aren’t necessarily good people either.

The movie had three intertwining stories. It demonstrated how evil can breed evil, affirming the idea of karma. The whole movie was surrounded by that one creature, which we all know is the most loyal creature.

I think that this is a really good movie but some parts of the movie are a lot less interesting than others and it kinda bogs the whole thing down. 6.5/10

I was googling like this 😬, because all that dog stuff was WAYYY too real and this was a debut low budget feature not from England or America. Thankfully, it’s all good they just did a really f-ing good job at that

We watched this film in class, and I honestly didn’t think I was going to enjoy it because of the intense violence involving animals. However, I really appreciated how they staged the dog fight scenes to make them look realistic while ensuring that no animals were actually harmed.
The story kept me engaged from the very beginning, starting with the car accident that immediately grabs the audience’s attention. Iñárritu did an excellent job by showing a scene from near the end of the film at the beginning, creating curiosity and making the viewer want to discover how everything connects.
The film tells three different stories about three main characters who do not know each other but are connected through the same car accident. The screenplay was not perfect, but the cinematography was outstanding. The camera movements, the frequent close-up shots, especially during scenes with Octavio (Gael García Bernal), and many other visual details made the film stand out.
Overall, it is a powerful and intense film that shows Iñárritu’s talent for telling interconnected stories filled with human emotions and tragedy.

Didn’t love it but it was good. 2nd segment was definitely my least favorite.

Amores Perros is thrilling, gritty, and unpredictable. It really is an incredible story. I've never scene a triptych film come together so cohesively. it is excellent in every way: story, shit composition, characters, and the acting is all fantastic. An emotional thrill ride.

This is one of those movies that present life for you in its rawest forms, it hurts so much but also enlightens you as much. Beautiful work.

Great performances and the story was very good while simultaneously depressing, and even though a lot of characters were hard to sympathize with the movie hit me emotionally and I think was an interesting metaphor with the dogs

Brought a certain “wow every character is a complete pos that’s cool” type of vibe that I just don’t like
