Absolutely loved American Gangster! 🔥 Denzel Washington was phenomenal — powerful, intense, and magnetic. The story, the style, the tension — everything hit perfectly. One of those films that sticks with you long after it ends! 🎬

- Great movie and it was honestly so interesting to see both perspectives throughout the whole movie
- I was lowkey rooting for Denzel that whole time (ik it was based on a true story tho)
- Ridley Scott does it again w another banger movie and an amazing cast

A really good crime film about the rise and fall of a drug lord. Played by Denzel Washington.
There’s also another story line about a detective trying to take down Washington’s character.
Played by Russell Crow.
It’s based on true events that make it more compelling to watch.

The first half hour or so was a bit slow to me. BUT stick through it because the pace picks up FAST and it’s a very well-made film. So many details to appreciate.

American Gangster is one of my all-time favourite gangster films.

One of the things I love most is that it’s inspired by real events, which makes the story even more gripping. It gives you a fascinating look at the rise of Frank Lucas while also showing the determination of those trying to bring him down.

Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe are outstanding, and their performances carry the film from beginning to end. The writing, cinematography, and soundtrack are all excellent, making it a film that’s easy to become completely invested in.

Despite its length, I never find it slow. It’s powerful, brilliantly acted, and one of those films I can watch over and over again without getting bored.
