this movie is beautiful. almost like french wes anderson. give it a watch if you like odd pictures even if you don’t speak french

Like taking a walk on a nice sunny day. 
My heart is absolutely soaring. This movie is so warm and full of hope and joy. I don't think there was a single moment where there wasn’t a smile on my face. 
Life is beautiful.

Through an avoidance of reality and escape through surrealism, the utter weirdness of the picture transforms into a surprisingly sentimental celebration of life. Amélie is one of those once-in-a-decade comedies which scatters its charm like pearls from a broken necklace.

First french movie I’ve watched. The cinematography was beautiful and the story was very interesting but in a good way.

Nice heartwarming comforting movie. The cinematography was great, with the signature yellowish warm camera effect, which could be seen to reflect Amelie’s characters warm feel. The movie shows the nice scenery in Paris with a relatable character. Great foreign film.

The perfect movie. Such an amazing experience. I have been looking forward to this one for a while and it lived up to everything I expected of it and more. I love the interactions of this film and the humanity of life itself. People watch!

Every time I try to watch a French movie, I genuinely regret it

I can see why people like this film. It captures emotional isolation in a way that feels deeply personal. She’s someone who observes life instead of fully stepping into it. Finding meaning in small acts, imagining connections rather than risking rejection.

i loved this movie yet I cannot explain it in any other way than.. is such a cute movie. nothing more nothing less absolutely recommend plus me and Amelie are so similar I love it. 8/10

Amelie is a very uniquely told story, with a quirky nature about it. It explores various character dynamics whilst seamlessly blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, initiating that life is just a game and you must play smart but inquisitively to succeed.

the “manic pixie dream girl” trope is overused, off-putting & i do get why some deem amélie’s passivity in her own life as “annoying”. however, that’s exactly why i identify with her, because being passive in your own life comes with a lot less pain. (1/3)

C’était incroyable très belle histoire et j’adore ça donne envie de faire le bien et de vivre et surtout ça donne envie d’aimer !
