absolute banger of a film. watched it back in 2022 but wanted to rewatch for a full breakdown.

the use of FPV in this was spectacular.

my beautiful city of angels looks so good. from the cartel mob behind the quinceañera store to robbing a federal bank in DTLA was just so wholesome i loved it.

cast did a phenomenal performance. easily one of my favorite scenes was when jake & yahya were singing “sailing” by christopher cross, to calm down in the ambulance was absolute cinema. lmfao. i started signing and smiling all at the same time.

the cinematography in this is really good, a lot of dutch angles, which i loved, incredible action sequences, bc ofc it’s directed by michael bay.

overall and A tier movie imo. definitely needed that rewatch. need michael back in the game asap.

Every part of this movie is unbelievable, and not in a good way. 4.5/10

If you know anything about Michael Bay you know you’re going to get a movie with a lot of explosions and an important female character that looks like she could be a supermodel. That remained true for this movie as well. It’s whether or not the movie will actually be good or not due to the plot and acting that will vary from film to film. And at least in my opinion, despite having some great actors, this movie wasn’t that good at all. Felt even more cheesy and unrealistic than the average Bay movie, but since it was still mildly entertaining I wouldn’t consider it a complete waste of a watch. Just keep your expectations very low if you’re going to take time out of your day to watch this nonsense.

Another film added to the ever growing anthology of Gyllenhaal playing a man on the brink.

I’ll watch anything w Jake in it mannn. Love when we get a role where he’s a goofy psycho.
