Straight up Acid Trip

was pretty bored watching this ngl.

Fifty years on the movie is clearly due a reappraisal. It's colourful, fun and as surreal as Disney is ever likely to get Carroll's dream logic seems to liberate the animators: everything is constantly transforming, including prim Alice herself.

My question is… what exactly was Alice smoking? The story doesn’t make much sense, but it’s incredibly imaginative. It’s not a bad movie at all; it simply reflects the boundless imagination of children (and, of course, adults too).

Looking at this animated film more closely, it’s a metaphor for growing up. Alice begins a journey where she is leaving childhood behind and stepping into adulthood, a world where the rules change without warning. She also has to learn to think for herself in order to survive in a world she doesn’t understand and make her own decisions.

Alice in Wonderland is one of Disney’s most imaginative and magical classics. I love how it takes you into a world where absolutely anything feels possible, filled with unforgettable characters, colourful adventures and so many memorable moments. Even though everything seems wonderfully chaotic, there’s a real sense of curiosity and discovery throughout Alice’s journey that makes it such a fun adventure to follow. It’s quirky, charming and unlike any other Disney film, which is exactly what makes it so special. Every visit to Wonderland feels like stepping into a dream, and it’s a classic I’ll always enjoy returning to.
