Always enjoy when Scorsese does something that's a bit different than what you'd expect. I haven't seen many films with Ellen Burstyn, but this is definitely my favorite role of hers. Shouldn't be surprised that I enjoyed the music since Scorsese nails that every time.

this movie was absolutely wonderful, way way better than I was expecting! Ellen Burstyn is fucking brilliant! incredibly realistic and thrilling depiction of the whirlwinds of life. how dare they not give this a physical blu-ray release, I will petition for it until I die

Definitely an amazing picture reflecting on the hardships of being a single mother pushing through even when all seems lost!

More for the gossip than anything else, but at least this one didn't bore me.

Liked the first 70 minutes but idk what happened after that, the story fell short and the characters became dull.
Great directing and performances ofc, but I think they would've benefited from a slightly better plot. Js below like for me.

Tommy is annoying, but I guess that’s the point. Kris Kristofferson is hot but doesn’t add a lot other than that. Ellen ate 👏👏

Not sure how I feel about this as a whole, so I’ll focus on what I love: Scorsese’s directing for this was very distinct and seems to have influenced a lot of films that followed. There’s not a crazy story, but it’s the acting and direction that keeps this afloat

it’s a good movie but I’m just kinda indifferent about it

good movie, i really liked the connection with alice and her son, but i didn’t really get the connection with david… could have been done better. we never saw anything that really made us like him besides he took tommy out fishing and riding his horse

this is not a romance movie lol idk why the poster looks like dat

One of my favorite movies of all time and one the first real capture of womanhood, the struggle of a single mother. Music is beautiful too
