That was… odd. Was Hawke portraying an autistic/handicapped person on purpose or is that what they think a long term prisoner is like? If his dad loves him so much why didn’t he send letters or visit ever? That storage unit was not temperature controlled. Stamps won’t last

The statement at the end of the credits "For all the people who have made a mistake" really encapsulates everything this film is trying to say. What the script may lack, the visual storytelling and amazing performance from Ethan Hawke fill in the blanks. It's depressingly sweet.

A painfully beautiful story. I do wish he had gotten to see Ella again, but the way it ended makes me think perhaps he would later.

such a good movie. A wonderful short film about fresh starts.

The parents letter and the storage unit they set up for him 😭😭 he was dealt such a bad hand but you could always see he was pure of heart
