If you can make a generation scared to go to bed you did your fucking job as a horror movie. As this is the only good one in this franchise, I loved it. This is proof you don’t need a big budget to make a good movie. Freddy was just scary dude. Plus good cast of characters. 8/10.

Finally watched this classic! Supernatural visual effects were cheesy, but there were a lot of iconic scenes. The most disturbing was the phone scene… Krueger is a pervert

Movies like nightmare on elm street remind me how older scary classics just hit different in a better way than most new horror movies cannot

Oozes with so much personality in such an interesting tonal space. Love the blend of horror and thrill and special effects. Just a good campy classic.

This movie was hilarious! I just can't get over the acting in the earlier movies. I can't believe this got a whole generation, even my dad! But I do get it. I just couldn't take Tina's death seriously at all 😭 the men in this movie had no urgency at all which is just a pattern with older movies?
I don't understand how you can control someone's nightmares, still fail to kill them AND get belt to ass. I almost felt sorry for Freddy after falling into several traps. I still think this movie is one of the better classics.
