Messed with my mind like the matrix, but added more tears

Incredibly disturbing, on a recent rewatch. But nothing looks quite like it

thought the pacing was odd until i realized that i was only barely through the film! it went in directions i did not expect and the futuristic stuff was explored in an interesting way

Interesting movie. Not one of my favorites from Spielberg, though. Not a super traditional feature length movie story.

The first act didn’t do much for me, but the moment Gigolo Joe shows up, film turns into a neon-soaked cyberpunk fever dream firing on all cylinders. Wildly uneven, fascinating, heartbreaking, and powered by an incredible Jude Law. Those snatched-waist aliens can call me anytime.

Dark and sad movie and the futuristic atmosphere was interesting

Too long to keep me engaged during the 2nd act

What a curious & odd movie. love for highest marks, not for the feeling. The art direction is insane & robot acting so good. That child is acting honey! A feast for the eyes but the storyline is slower and atypical to that of a movie. Would be great for a plane. 1 time watch.

Interesting ideas, some mesmerizing visual moments, and solid music, and Osment's child performance is outstanding. But I never felt invested in the plot. The philosophical questions on love, industry, and commoditization are intriguing, but not explored as deeply as I hoped.

LOVE IT ALWAYS

Honestly, I wasn't sure if I was really all that into this, but I was in my feels at the ending, so that says it all. The middle portion was the best part. I mean, you got a wannabe Pinocchio on a road trip with a sexbot, haha.

vaguely interesting

I loved seeing Kubrick and Spielberg’s blend of ideas, one being darker and the other more sentimental. Personally I don’t think they mesh very well, but it’s interesting! It’s technically masterful and is tackling some deep themes, despite feeling tonally off.
