A Haunting in Venice

Director and star Kenneth Branagh’s third outing as Agatha Christie’s brilliant and persnickety detective is his most satisfying turn yet… briskly entertaining Agatha Christie comfort food with a larger theme about the secret we carry, something more ghostly and spiritual.

6.6 - My favorite of the Branagh/Poirot mystery trilogy easily, but still kinda low overall. It fixed almost everything I didn’t love about the others - CGI, settings, cast/character interaction. But the story isn’t engaging. It’s almost all completely forgettable.

hercule poirot is literally my tio

idk why they keep making these movies bc i don’t think they’re doing that well at the box office but i don’t care & i will keep watching them

The first two movies lured me into this false sense of safety that perhaps these guys grew from Thor and learned to use artsy angles and tricks for the betterment of a project (and in a way that isn’t an eyesore), but alas. And the cast sucked.

Good watch,
I need to read some Agatha Christie
