A really wholesome short that actually got me teary eyed by the end. The story and characters were very simple and predictable, but it was all executed with the heart needed to still make it work.

7.2 - While I am rating it a bit lower than The Singers, it is really a toss up for which of the two I liked better, & it really came down to technicals.
The problem here is its predictability, but the story is still moving & heartwarming all the same. The core elements that drive the relationship between JJ & Dorothy are a touch subtle, but their characters are still completely fleshed out.
This is one that I couldn’t help but wish for a feature length version, adding even more depth to these people & how their stories extend from here. The type of slice of life indie film vibe that I fall for every single time.

A simple but very beautiful and poetic short film about love and connection and how important that remains even when others seem to have moved on. I think the film danced around the queer topic a little bit and wish it focused a bit more there, given the title, and the character of Scott was a bit more of a caricature, but overall it was incredibly sweet, gorgeous to look at and memorable. Both leads deliver great performances and leave a very warm feeling when the film ends.
