My mistake. Four coffins…

this is the most average westerns get. Average story, average setting, average characters. It's fine. 6/10

My final watch of The Man With No Name trilogy just happens to be the weakest of the three. There were time when I was struggling to get through this one, it just really didn’t manage to hold my attention all that well. The ending is just iconic! Just watch the ending!

Probably the coldest an Eastwood character has ever been - “get three coffins ready”, like damn…

I can’t believe films of this high quality were able to be made with such a small amount of cash. Story, while on the basic side, provides an entertaining playing field for The Man With No Name to operate on. Set pieces are exciting and well executed, characters expansive, and well fleshed out. Across this (unofficial) trilogy, Ennio Morricone’s scores are genuinely some of the best of all time - one of the greatest to ever do it.

Clint is pretty perfect here. It’s not a particularly chatty role, it’s more with the eyes, the expressions, cigar acting is on point. Performing lines as cheesy as this and making them sound hard isn’t easy, especially in a studio after filming - but he does it!

This and A Few Dollars More are pretty level in my eyes, it’s The Good, the Bad and the Ugly which clears them both… and most films ever made, just sayin’.

I’d say I like For A Few Dollars more a tad bit more than I liked this film but I still enjoyed the heck out of this.

I absolutely love just deciding to watch an old western film out of the blue cause I just love the whole feel of the film and how it looks in general.

The action is great and I enjoyed seeing the amazing gunslinging skills of Joe yet again.

I can’t wait to pick up the good, the bad and the ugly and hopefully enjoy it as much as I enjoyed this and for a few dollars more.

Overall a solid western with some great acting from Clint Eastwood as always.

Raw, gritty action. Classic Clint Eastwood. Great watch. Great soundtrack.

Hard to say what defined this more for me: Eastwood’s legendary persona, or Morricone's FIRE soundtrack. Eastwood is iconic w/ his poncho, scowl, & glower. Aside from that, just a great story: intriguing, tense, clever. The only notable flaw is the ADR can be a bit distracting.

A both product of its time and a timeless masterpiece. A Fistful of Dollars is immaculate in practically every god given category, it’s amazingly paced, iconic, the score is great and best of all it’s fucking brilliant in its sense of tension, it’s a non-stop thrill ride of pure western greatness backed by that of a badass rivalling John Marston and Arthur Morgan. And to top it all off it’s poetry in its quotes, I had about 6 different quotes ready before I started this damn review.

1st Act 9.6/10 (Amazing set ups, was confusing at times and a bit slow, but when it kicks off it fucking kicks.)

2nd Act 10.5/10 (A very rare yet very earned 10.5/10, it’s almost beyond perfect, only thing I wished was that it was longer.)

3rd Act 11/10 (Betrayal, Torture and to top it all off the best part of the whole fucking movie.)

Plot 9.7/10 (The whole (MINOR SPOILER) massacre had me crying tears of joy due to how peak it was.)

Soundtrack/Score 10/10 (Generational score, in gonna love TGBU aren’t I?)

Acting 10/10 (CLINT EASTWOOD IS THE FUCKING MAN, NOT A, THE.)

Pacing 9.8/10 (Absolutely fucking relentless in the best way possible.)

Cinematography 9.8/10 (Shots are amazing, love the floorboard and horseback ones especially, the only reason I said product of its time earlier is it’s really obvious tht the town is a propped up set.)

Character Development 9.7/10 (So much from so little works so well with a character like Joe.)

Writing 10/10 (Insanely quotable and the foreshadows are beyond fucking insane.)

Ending 9.9/10 (Right smack bang in the middle? Niche reference.)

Direction 10/10 (Now here’s a master at his fucking work, Sergio Leone where have you been?)

After thinking the good the bad and the ugly was overrated i thought I’d think lower of this film. But all I’ll say is for what it is it’s pretty much perfect and I still holds up 10/10

The dollars trilogy has taken me on a wild journey that I will never forget. I hope some day to watch these again and to feel the same way I did, or something close to it. This movie and the ones that followed defined a genre and still nothing will compare to this masterpiece

4/10 Eastwood plays the instigator of trouble between two enemies in a small town causing them to battle one anther which eventually cleans away to towns trouble and earn Eastwoods character money in the process, not a bad story for a 1964 film with your typical western gun fight
