Such a well written and delivered movie. You can’t look away during that court scene. Loved it.

Cruise, Moore, and Nicholson...a trilogy you can't really go wrong with. As soon as I realised Aaron Sorkin adapted the screenplay, from an actual play, it all clicked. The centre of drama is performance, heavy dialogue and nerve-racking character work. My mind linked to the million propaganda core movies Hollywood loves to enlist, but I wouldn't call this that...Its motifs are realistic and still too common. From visible themes like age, gender, and hierarchy. To the not-so-visible, corruption, honour, and courage. The plot plays out like the trial itself. Humourous till truth spills horrific.

my favorite law movie. makes me want to join the navy. i love the characterization of kaffe, arrogant and full of ego but flawed and naive. it also speaks to a greater critique of the way the military, and in a greater sense the world, works and the “need” for mistreatment in pursuance of results. i also appreciate the characterization of jessep’s blindness to his misconduct as a result of his age and belief of superiority over those around him, because of rank or otherwise god complex feeling
