Imo they tried so hard yet not at all. There’s great special effects & it mimics the vibe of ghost hunter shows & what not but there’s something unserious about John Cusack in this role which is probably intentional but his smugness bothers me… plus he also looks like Shane Madej

Great psychological thriller movie with wonderful performances and fun mind bending sequences.

Non spoiler PSA: Make sure you watch the theatrical cut. The directors cut ending is garbage.

Incredibly underrated, I could t take my eyes off the screen. 1408 has some amazing performances, decent scares and just a full blown amazing script.

1st Act 8.4/10 (Great start, script is at its best, gets you invested very well.)

2nd Act 8.8/10 (Prime time 1408, scary, confusing, yet all makes sense.

3rd Act 8.3/10 (Drop down a bit, leans into more character driven, which doesn’t really work cause I don’t feel nun for them.)

Plot 9/10 (Amazingly well done, Stephen King should be proud.)

Soundtrack/Score 6/10 (Eh, just aight I guess.)

Acting 8.9/10 (John Cusack is so DAMN good in this.)

Pacing 9/10 (Couldn't take my eyes off the scare cause so much shit happens so fast.)

Cinematography 8.4/10 (Mid but the mirror shot in the beginning of the second act was so well done.)

Character Development 8.5/10 (Micheal develops great, others not so much.)

Writing 7.8/10 (On the whole just decent.)

Ending 8.4/10 (Like the ideas, not a huge fan of the execution.)

Direction 8/10 (Bog standard, but I guess it’s not bad.)
