Crimson Peak

Giving this a heart because the gothic romantic Victorian vibes were so immaculate and there is literally no aesthetic that I love more than this. The mansion literally gave me chills, one of the most stunning settings I’ve seen. I loved how labyrinth-like it was. The wardrobe was insane, I’d die for those dresses. The ghosts were terrifying AF, I loved the motif of red throughout and the wispy quality they had. Only qualm is I feel the plot could’ve been more fleshed out. It was the weakest part for sure. Like give us more information about their childhood trauma, what drove them to their incestuous relationship, what their relationships were like with their parents, what happened to the family fortune. I would’ve liked to see flashbacks to his previous relationships and their murders. Would’ve made a stronger case for why it was different with Edith. Tom Hiddleston is hot as hell though so that helps.
