Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre

I don’t like it…I don’t dislike it…I hate it…I hate the fact that I love it. It’s so morbid to me but I just can’t stop myself from wanting to watch it more! I’ve always had a fascination with Japanese stories like this and I don’t think that’s something that will stop. Not ever.

The lows are SO low. But it has some excellent episodes that unfortunately end horribly

I love junji ito & the stories are all great but the balloon episode is the only off-putting one in this imo, the rest of the stories don’t hit the same as they do in his books. his style & atmosphere are just really difficult to properly duplicate in animation I think

Some stories are quite stupid, some are genuinely creepy but overall every story was executed extremely well especially visually.
