East of Eden Reviews

This series was so good. I’ve never read Steinbeck's East of Eden, but I would like to believe this series is a good retelling of the book. I felt so many emotions as I watched, from fear, hate, and disgust to love. The acting is phenomenal, especially Florence Pugh, who always seems to blow her roles out of the park, but this one was out of this world. I fell in love with Cathy, Lee, and Cal, as well as Adam, and I hope to return to this series one day and let it make me sob all over again.

Holy shit. Netflix… I didn’t know you still had this in you. Cast 15/10, homage to the source material 10/10, overall quality of the series 10/10. Sobbed my eyes out at the end. Florence the woman that you are.

AMAZING!!, my heart breaks for cal all he wanted was to do good and make his father proud 💔 I was getting so mad for him!.and the fact his mother left her will only arom who she saw for a second!!, he was such a good brother aswell I was so shocked that Kate/cathy was bad! , 9/10

Pretty superficial compared to the book, but overall still good. I wish we saw more of the Hamilton family as in the book. The acting in this show was IMMACULATE. And I just want to give Cal the whole world ❤️‍🩹🫂

I enjoyed it. It’s not always comfortable to watch and pushes you to think about how and why people behave the way they do. Beautiful scenery and gorgeous costumes. There is terror, empathy, joy, kindness, cruelty, and love. Florence Pugh, Hoon Lee, Martha Plimpton are remarkable

Omg. Literally no words. So much biblical undertones I didn’t even realize until the end

literally just soul crushing wtf… poor adam but charles really warned him. Charles mustve died all alone..

Easily one of the best Netflix shows I’ve watched d
In recent years. From the acting, the pacing, the story, and the cinematics. This was a beautifully well done story and it has me itching to read the novel it was based on. Amazing, amazing!

Last ep got me falling in tears, this is a good one!

Fantastic

Masterpiece

👌🏼👌🏼

Absolutely amazing adaptation of a story with so many layers. The biblical parallels and the theme of “the sins of our fathers” is driven home by incredible performances by all the cast. Also I would let Florence Pugh shoot me

One of the best series of the year, Florence should be getting an award for this performance. The dialogue and story line was very well done. Cast was amazing. Absolutely loved his one

Great ending to the show. Great show overall too. The best thing on Netflix in the last few years, by far.

rejection is the hell he fears

I wish I could love this 10x. Remarkable.
