The Thing
just amazingโฆ probably the most insanely good monster/gore effects iโve ever seen, every single moment was captivating and it kept you double and triple guessing the meaning and motivation behind everything the characters said and did, such a good movie

The Thing
The fact I was physically repulsed by the gruesome practical effects, just tells you everything you need to know. I went into this film completely and metaphorically blind, which is 100% recommended. stared it down while clenching my little cheeks and walked out feeling both insanely grateful yet horrified to have eyesight. The oozing tension from the dialogue and plot that continually grew from beginning to end was beautiful. It's hard to make a remake of a remake when the creativity and quality in designs and other 'things' is so good it feels illegal. Also, Kurt Russell.

This was a rewatch, and it was still as good as my first ever watch. For a almost 2 hour long movie, it felt really fast. The character interactions as they grow more skeptical of each other is amazing. And, of course, the practical effects in this film are what make it so good.

One of the best remakes ever made! The effects are great but the gripping paranoia makes this movie a classic.

The whole time I was watching this, I couldnโt stop thinking about Among Us. The practical effects were incredible and made the monsters feel genuinely terrifying. I enjoyed the simple, one-location whodunit setup, but I really wish they had expanded more on the creatureโs origin

Holy shit. This might be genuine perfection. The writing, story, characters, VISUALSSS, SPECIAL EFFECTS, the absolutely nauseatingly tense atmosphere throughout the entire film, with REAL SCARES! This is seriously one of the best classic horror movies Iโve seen, or movies period.

this is what happens when men are sent to remote places to dig things up with reckless abandon. also mcreadyโs giant cowboy hat was RIDICULOUS, he really stole dewey rileyโs crown. the effects were fine i guess but for a bunch of scientists they were really stupid

They killed the cute dogs, fuck ass cowboy hat, why tf was it so slimey and GREEN? If there had been literally one woman this movie would have ended in 10 minutes max.

The suspense I had with me watching this movie never left! It isnโt a scary movie or a Halloween movie but I would recommend next year.

I love the cover of this movie and when I first saw it, it was nothing like I expected it to be. But in a good way! I really like the visual effects and the tension. Good movie!

The Thing
One of my favorite movies of all time done by one of the best. JC's '82 masterpiece is revolutionery and still holds to this day for it's incredible practical effects and perfect play of paranoia with an ending that still to this day some people cant decide....who was the thing?

i literally gasped at the incredible practical effects, and was geeking out about how creepy (and cool) the gore looked.

John Carpenter perfectly creates what a
โThe Thingโ movie should be. Suspense beginning to end wonder who could possibly be the Thing.
Right when you think you know whatโs going to happen next it diverts your expectations.
HBO should make a โThe Thingโ TV show ๐บ
Writing is ๐๐ฝ
