Holy Sh*t they're doin' it

Truly by all accounts an absolutely abhorrent attempt at a blockbuster that I’ve seen for a long, long time.

Even from the opening moments it was clear this was going to be a rocky ride, but I wasn’t expecting it to get WORSE once the dinosaurs turned up. A dreadful script with some of the most inconsistent, exposition-heavy, toe-curlingly cringe pieces of dialogue my ears have been disgraced with. Visually all over the place, at one point trying to be quirky and creative with the next janky cut being the most dull framing you’ve seen. I cannot give an example of a good creative element in this film, other than Michael Giacchino’s score - which even then isn’t fantastic.

I can’t believe the star power of Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor read this script and were like “yeah, that sounds fucking good, sign me up!” - I won’t have it. Even that, McGregor is actually terrible here, the worst I’ve seen him - a simply bad accent, and just all around terrible line deliveries. Hathaway is better, but not by much, and still wildly inconsistent in her portrayal of the character - maybe down to extensive reshoots??

I can’t believe that; A.) this was green-lit, and B.) Warner Bros didn’t decide to do a Batgirl and claim this on insurance. David Robert Mitchell can go straight to director jail, what a talentless idiot…

I don’t 100% see why it’s getting mixed reviews. This is a good thrilling movie.
It was basically one big Twilight Zone Movie.
Loved the early 80’s esthetic and wonder of films from that time period(just with modern special and visual effects).

wait yall i was rocking with this booooootssssss. it lowk ate. i thought it was gonna be fucking aweful so it exceeded so far above my expectations. the dinosaurs looked cool to me but i was informed that they actually look awful. but imma stand by my rare optimism and whimsy abt how they looked. an autistic classmate told me that dinosaurs had feathers and fur and i trust him so it was real to me.

i wish that they made the dad bad. like if he was fine and giving msub it would’ve EATENNNNN. like boots but no he was pathetic and ugly.

i saw the daughter and her friend in the very beginning and thought “oh we’re getting her a gf before the movies over” and as always i was right. i hated the name jeanette though. and if it were up to me they would’ve kissed or smth just for confirmation even though ik for a fact that they’re together. like i just don’t want to hear “and they were roommates” ass bitches come out. LIKE NOOOO THEY WERE GIRLFRIENDS.

Honestly surprised me with how good and bad it is. The characters are unbelievably stupid but the designs are brilliant. Also they pushed it to a level i didn’t expect, and I’m so glad that they took the risk

Yea pretty mid. The concept is cool, some of the shots of the whole neighbourhood and the past world looked nice and I think it had a comfortable feel to it, probably to do with the street/neighbourhood atmosphere. But man this movie kinda sucks, the whole storyline with the bully and the boy with the broken arm was dumb as shit and pointless, and that girl they saved literally did nothing, said nothing and movie doesn’t change at all regardless of if she was there or not. I really don’t know how it’s getting good reviews.

My score: 5/10

A good enough time. Don’t go poking holes in any time travel paradoxes, just know it’s an 80s family action homage with a decent cast, script, and cool creature designs. Worth the runtime!

They had me in the first half, not gonna lie. This was on track to be something special but it got sillier as it went. Still, I appreciate the big swing and the almost Spielbergian summer blockbuster flourishes. It is a reasonably effective sci fi thriller

I did see that this movie used AI in its ads and marketing which is incredibly disappointing considering how truly strong of a movie this really is - in terms of being a summer family, adventure movie outfitted with just a lot of dinosaurs sliming people out, this movie does everything it is supposed to do - Anne hathwaway delivers another strong performance in this movie that adds a layer emotional depth to the story that tbh most jurassic movies lack unfortunately - the dinosaurs looked great, lots of fun

I enjoyed watching Anne Hathaway and dinosaurs. The plot of this movie is well written and it is very very funny too. They got so many new dinos as well and some of the kills were really good. The supporting cast did a good job as well. Third act was the best and so unexpected ♥️.

Pg Byrne is criminally underutilized. Giacchino’s score is reheated nachos. The dinosaur horror rules, but everything else is bland: awful kid performances, boring family dynamics, a pointless bully subplot, a copout ending, and Nolan-level audio mixing. Action was fun doe.

Probably the most fun I’ve had at the theater yet this year, phenomenal cast, very serious and a breath of fresh air with it not cracking jokes every five seconds. Also good to see a very fun and unique dinosaur movie in recent time.

I can’t believe how high this is rated. Ewan McGregors acting is genuinely horrid and the whole story is straight buns. The plot is interesting but not done well.

The only redemption it had was how good the Dinosaurs actually looked cause they were quite good, the cgi team did extremely well in SOME parts. Another redeeming part was how the dinosaurs were placed and presented, it kind of felt like jaws and how they didn't show the dinosaurs straight away.

Very good movie, good acting. Good story, always love Dino movies. If you get the chance don't be stingy and pay the extra and experience it in 4DX second best I've seen in 4DX. Stay blessed!

Way too cheesy. Daughter character can’t act and Ewen McGregor’s American accent was painful. And if I were to say it was right-wing propaganda? 👀 the b*tch nagging wife and the perfect, humble husband? She learns to value her motherhood over everything else? Dinos were good tho

W dinosaurs, similar to Jumanji, totally sexist tho and copped out on the lesbian couple 💀
